Location: United States-Missouri-St Louis Site

This
position is responsible for global technical service aspects of Bausch  Lomb
cataract/ vitreo-retinal products including new product development and ongoing
product support. Technical aspects
include, but are not limited to, development of technical service
documentation, service training material, equipment troubleshooting, resolving
product issues and data/ trend analysis. Also serves as a proactive interface
with product design engineering, manufacturing and global field service
organizations.

Specific Job Duties:

Provide
service expertise to product design and development teams for new product
development, product enhancements, and product changes. Interface and collaborate with Design and
Research, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing representatives
as necessary. Interface and collaborate
with internal technical depot repair operations team for product performance
issues, repair issues, and tooling requirements
Provide
technical support including Hotline phone support for B L, affiliate,
distributor field service personnel, depot service centers and support
technical support representatives with customer issues.
Develop
training material for global use and perform technical training for the B L
cataract/ vitreo-retinal product line. 
Maintain all aspects of the technical training program such as
processes, procedures, and online Learning Management System administration
while continuously exploring opportunities to enhance and improve the program.
Correspond
and interact with customers, B L sales and applications representative requests
and provide technical expertise where necessary.
Develop
and deliver technical documentation including service notes for the B L
cataract/ vitreo-retinal products to the domestic and international service organization. Write and update Standard Operating
Procedures where needed, initiate approval processes, provide procedure
training where applicable and distribute to the domestic and international
service organization.
Provide
support as necessary for the development and administration of the applicable
service reporting tool(s). Review and
analyze service reports to monitor and provide expertise in areas of
improvement.
Coordinate
with service operations and provide technical needs analysis for service parts. Work with service operations representatives
on inventory level, parts handling, packaging, returns and PO advice.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering or Technical discipline

Education: Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred, but other
Engineering or Technical disciplines would be considered

Experience
(Required): At least 5 years of engineering experience or 7 years in technical
support and field/depot service of cataract/ vitreo-retinal products considered

Special
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, electro-mechanical, and technical
writing skills required. Trainer skills,
including classroom and online, and Presentation skills are highly desirable.

Specialized
Training: Project management and/or working knowledge of lean six sigma

Ensure site suppliers (API, Sterilization, Raw Materials, Components and high risk service providers) are compliant with Local and Federal regulations as well as B L Quality Standards. Identify and implement Supplier Quality Management System improvements that will decrease complexity and increase level of compliance. 

Provide and implement solutions to Supplier and CMO issues that arise which could impact compliance to applicable regulations and Bausch &amp; Lomb Quality Systems (including escalation to Leadership). 

Work closely with site Suppliers, Procurement and Operations to ensure and manage the Quality of Supplier goods (Raw Materials and Components) products produced by service suppliers such as Sterilization providers.
a. Ensure Suppliers are in compliance with local and Federal regulations, established Quality and Joint Venture Agreements.
b. Supplier Risk Assessments and Risk Mitigation planning and Monitoring
c. Report Supplier Quality Metrics
d. Product Quality trending and reporting (APRs/PQRs). 

Maintain and build effective and professional business relationships with internal customers (Site Quality, Procurement, Operations) and Suppliers. 

Ensure appropriate quality agreements, standards and joint venture agreements are in place for Suppliers. 

Develop and improve systems / procedures that govern the Quality Management of Suppliers.

Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline (Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry or related discipline).

Experience: 
5 years experience in a regulated industry with 2 years in Quality Assurance preferably with experience in the manufacturing, packaging and labeling of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Position Summary:
Senior Systems Engineer with technical leadership of Engineering projects and Project Management for new medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing platforms, products, processes and cost improvements:

Qualifications:
Education: 
BS in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Computer Systems Engineering, or other similar technology degree, or equivalent training and experience. Advanced degree desired.

Experience: 
Minimum of 5 years experience with development, integration and project management of automated high-volume low-cost manufacturing and/or process control systems including PLC’s, DCS’s, motion control, robotics, HMI’s, SCADA and MES systems software. 

Special Skills: 
Experienced Project Management in the development and deployment of capital assets and systems; PMI certification a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in use of Lean Six Sigma Process Excellence tools desirable. Self-directed individual must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and project management skills within a fast-paced, cross-functional team setting. 

Specialized Training: 
Knowledge of industry regulations, software development life cycle methodologies, machine vision fundamentals, statistical analysis / solid analytical skills, Minitab, Microsoft Project, Solidworks, AutoCAD, VB.Net Programming, Cognex VisionPro, SQL, Oracle, Access and industry-leading DCS, PLC, HMI and MES platforms.
